5 Major Challenges in Cultivation Developments

If you are aiming to excel in the field of cultivation, you might face some high challenges. With the development the field of agriculture, there are still some of the major challenges you have to face. This article aims to highlight 5 major challenges in the field of cultivation developments along with some of the methods/measures to resolve them. Following are the 5 major challenges chosen by me, in the field of cultivation.

Challenges in Cultivation Development

Cultivation Development Plan:

To be in this field, you should be having a clear cultivation plan. This is a modern era where you have to be, not just well equipped to excel in your field, but you have to be economically strong too. This plan is a challenge in itself as the whole criteria of success is based upon it. If you are a cultivation organization, you should develop a healthy relationship between each prospective donor and your organization.

Cultivation Development Techniques for Increased Crop Area:

In this field of work, you should be aware of all the cultivation techniques for the rich production of crops, starting from soil selection to environmental concerns and effects of temperature upon crops. Species of crops are cultivated according to the climatic changes and many of them are cultivated twice and more per year.

For rich productivity of crops, you should be aware of all the agricultural concerns and techniques starting from field selection according to climate, choosing of strong hybrid seed,  to the maintenance of plants including protection of harvested plants from weeds, providing plants with nutrients, underground maintenance of plants, water intake and later on to there storage.

These techniques have been made easier in the era by various gadgets like moisture sensors, aerial images, temperature detectors, and GPS.

Water Logging:

Effects of waterlogging could result in devastation if kept unresolved.  In water, logging water remains present on the upper surface whereas, salts move inside the soil near roots. Mulching is a process to avoid waterlogging. This process is done by adding a material to increase the absorption of water in the soil to prevent the evaporation of water.

Crop yield improved in the Northwest

This technique, which proves to be a great development, should be done with care as the wrong method or ignorance can affect the crops. If the material used in mulching sticks to the stem, it can affect badly by softening the stem, thus resulting in making crops more vulnerable to the fungus' and diseases.

Soil Erosion:

Soil erosion proves to be one of the major challenges in cultivation, associated with climatic and agricultural concerns. With the development in the area of cultivation and due to the upgraded vision, this problem could be overcome by different methods. Soil erosion is the disappearance of an upper and most fertile layer of soil, due to climatic changes and physical forces of nature, affecting soil's organic composition.

Soil erosion could be disastrous in long term and it could be avoided by various simple methods or developed ones such as placing trees, shrubs, or stones in the cultivated area and also through Mulching.

Yield Potential:

If you want maximum yield potential from your cultivated land, don't just stick to simpler ways. You can't get maximum yield by general methods, but you have to work intelligently. Some of the essential and intelligent ways of getting maximum yield to include proper selection of plants to be cultivated at their exact time, seasonal soil rotation, scouting your cultivated land, and understanding field potential.

Scouting in the fields, not just enable you to examine your field but, also helps you to get a better result in knowing the presence of weeds and pests.  A farmer should also know cultivated biodiversity and its importance for maximum yield of crops as, the field of biodiversity covers the major aspects of soil fertility, water conservation, and soil rotation.

Conclusion:

Summing up, The above major challenges could be handled easily by proper monitoring and knowledge of this field. Also, we know that Cultivation is an important field. Due to development in science and technology, it has become far easier to be in the field and excel in it, than the previous ones. With the production of fertilizers, pesticides, better systems of irrigation, robotic technologies, storage, and marketing strategies and processes such as mulching, the field of cultivation has reached another level of productivity.
